By using this Galaxy instance hosted at Sciensano (Belgium) by the Bioinformatics Platform (service Transversal activities in Applied Genomics), you declare to have read, understood and agreed to the following policies:
This Galaxy instance is a free, public, internet accessible resource intended to provide a user-friendly platform for the data-intensive analysis of complex (NGS) data for academic/non-profit researchers. It is not provided free-of-charge for commercial users, who should contact bioit@sciensano.be in case they would be interested in using this resource. All the pipelines publicly made available by Sciensano may only be used for research purposes. Any use for commercial purposes or resulting in any competition with Sciensano is expressly excluded. This exclusion applies for both the business and non-profit sectors.
The information provided on this platform is provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind. The administrators and developers are not liable for any loss or damage to the data you store or the analyses you perform on this Galaxy instance, nor do they provide any warranty about the nature, standard, identification, performance, completeness, legality, quality or accuracy thereof, nor about the interpretation(s) based on the analyses performed using this Galaxy instance. More specifically, we disclaim liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential damages (including but not limited to, loss of use, data or profits), however, caused and under any theory of liability, whether in contract, strict liability or tort (including negligence or otherwise) arising in any way out of the use of this Galaxy instance, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
We reserve the right to make additions, deletions or modifications to the contents on the platform at any time without prior notice. We don't warrant that this is free of viruses or other harmful components. Please note that the accessibility to this Galaxy instance may be interrupted any time for update or maintenance services.
This Galaxy instance provides links to external websites that are not provided or maintained by or in any way affiliated with Sciensano (Belgium). Please note that we don't guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, or completeness of any information on these external websites. We cannot and will not take responsibility for the information or contents thereof.
All information collected during registration of the users remains strictly confidential and will not be distributed or used for any (commercial) purpose, unless required to do so by law.
This Galaxy instance and associated databases are protected by the laws. Any attempt for piracy or data theft may be prosecuted.
Finally, each user of this Galaxy instance agrees:
To quote this Galaxy instance and/or associated tools, pipelines and databases in any publication, clearly referring to Sciensano (Belgium), if this platform contributed to results presented in the publication.
That it may become subject in the future to a yearly recurring administrative and/or maintenance cost. In case of this event, users will have the possibility to cancel their account without any extra associated costs if they do not wish to keep using the services provided by this platform.
Your data is not backed-up and only kept for three months before it will be automatically deleted ! Input data should be uploaded to Galaxy, analyzed, and output should be downloaded again to your own backed-up and redundant location. This way you ensure the output of your results is properly backed-up.
Only one account can be created per user. Users will never share their credentials with other users. Accounts for groups are not permitted, as there are several possibilities integrated within Galaxy to share data, workflows, and histories with other users.
The Bioinformatics Platform has 'administration privileges' for the Galaxy framework, meaning it can access your histories and data in Galaxy (only). The platform will however never look without your explicit consent at your data, analyses and results for any other reason than troubleshooting and assistance.
Your access to Galaxy is provided under the condition that you abide by any published quotas on data storage, job submissions, or any other limitations placed on the service. Attempts to subvert these limits through any method may/will result in termination of all associated accounts.
All tools and pipelines provided in Galaxy will be properly cited (original author and publication) upon publication of your results obtained using Galaxy. In case of doubt, please contact the Bioinformatics Platform to request the correct citation.
Upon obtaining a Galaxy user account, you will be automatically added to a 'Galaxy user mailing list' which is sent periodically with news regarding new features, updates, maintenance etc. for the Galaxy framework. You can unsubscribe to this newsletter at any moment by sending a mail with the subject "UNSUBSCRIBE" and "GALAXY" in the subject to bioit@sciensano.be.
